Bio
I am an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Institute of Population Research at Peking University, and a faculty affiliate at Peking University's Center for African Studies. My research centers on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in low- and middle- income countries, particularly among economically and socially vulnerable groups.
Passionate about solving human behavioral puzzles, I employ diverse methodology approaches including quantitative methods such as randomized controlled trials to assess intervention effectiveness; as well as qualitative theories and methods adopted from medical sociology to deepen the understanding of social determinants of and structural causes for SRH inequality. As an internal and international migrant myself for decades, my recent focus also extends to behaviors and health outcomes related to international migration in the global south.
I serve as Deputy Editor in Journal of the International AIDS Society, Associate Editor in Reproductive Health, and Scientific Committee member for Asia-Pacific AIDS and Co-infections Conference.
