2011.4-2012.8   Independent Researcher, International Center for Young Scientist, National Institute for Materials Science, Japan

2009.9-2011.3  Posdoctoral Researcher, National Institute for Materials Science, Japan

Research Interests and Achievements:

Prof. Wei are interested in two research directions: (1) the novel properties of nanomaterials and their relationships with the nanomaterials composition and structures, (2) electron emission from low-dimensional materials and high-performance electron emitters. In the first direction, he performs structure and composition engineering,  property measurements on single nanomaterials in situ in an electron microscope, so he can establish the relationships between physical properties of single nanomaterials and their composition and atomic structures.  In the second direction, he try to understand the laws of electron emission from low-dimensional materials and devolop high-performance microscale electron emitters and emitters arrays based on nanomaterials and microfabrication technologies. He has totally published more than 50 peer-reviewed SCI papers with more than 1000 citations. As the first or corresponding author, he has published 14 papers on the top journals with IF>10, including Nature Communications, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials et al.
