Bio

Dr. Yue QIN is currently a tenure-track associate professor at the College of Environmental Science and Engineering at Peking University. Before that, she worked as a tenure-track assistant professor at the Department of Geography and Sustainability Institute at the Ohio State University. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy (STEP Program) from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, supervised by Prof. Denise L. Mauzerall.

As an environmental scientist with interdisciplinary training, her research uncovers the interactions among the energy system, the natural environment, and the human society to inform sustainable energy and agricultural policies under a changing climate. Specifically, she focuses on: 1) the multi-aspect impacts of human activities (e.g., energy and agriculture sector transition) on the natural system (e.g., air pollution, climate change, and water scarcity); and 2) the feedbacks of the natural system on human society (e.g., food, energy, and water system vulnerability under climate change). Her research projects have been published in a series of high-profile outlets, including Nature Climate Change (2022, 2020 featured cover article)Nature Sustainability (2019, 2018), and PNAS (2017).
