Qindan Zhu joined the group in Apr 2015. Her research project is to explore the relationships between the  hydroxyl radical (OH∙) and the photolysis rate J(1D) by using the global CTM model. In this project, she synthesized all the OH∙ measurements reported in the literature, made a comprehensive comparisons of the modelled OH-J(1D) relationships to the field observations, and finally investigated the impacts of biological and anthropogenic emissions on the relationships between OH and J(1D). She also investigated in depth the key factors that controls the production and losses of OH under representative scenarios by using an explicit 1-D box model coupled with the RACM2 mechanisms.
