A smaller Martian core

Mars' core is smaller than we thought, and an anomalous liquid layer was identified at the top of the Martian core, by combining ab initio simulations performed on supercomputers and seismic data from Mars. The story was covered by ETH news环球科学 (Chinese version of Scientific American), among others.
