Introduction

The research in our group is in the interdisciplinary area of organic, polymer, materials, and supramolecuar chemistry. We endeavor to identify and resolve interesting and important fundamental problems in the applications of organic/polymeric materials with optoelectronic, photonic, semiconducting functions or open-shell properties. The studies are featured with supramolecular approaches, to address challenges and mysteries entailed by noncovalent interactions. Some projects currently being carried out relate to: synthesizing novel pi-conjugated (macro)molecules and studying their electronic, photonic and open-shell spin properties; investigating the self-assembly and supramolecular properties of organic conjugated systems with higher-order structure-entailed distinctive photophysical and electronic properties; studies on the spin coupling behaviors in hydrocarbon-based (poly)radical systems; developing new, high-performance organic photovoltaic and optoelectronic materials, etc. For more detailed information, please check out Research page.
