Shi-Wei Chu
Dr. Shi-Wei Chu is an expert in the field of optical microscopy, optical spectroscopy, laser physics, and biomedical applications. He received his PhD degree in 2004 in the Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics at National Taiwan University, Taiwan. In 2006, he became an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at National Taiwan University, promoted to associate professor and full professor in 2010 and 2014, respectively. As one of the notable scholars in the field of optical microscopy, he has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, and filed 8 patents. He has received Outstanding young scholar research project award from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2016, Young Scholars’ Creativity Award of the Foundation for the Advancement of Outstanding Scholarship in 2015, and Exploration Research Award of Pan Wen Yuan Foundation in 2010. In addition, his teaching efforts received numerous recognition from National Taiwan University, including Excellent Mentor Award in 2015 (1% of ~2000 faculties), Outstanding Teaching Award (1% of ~2000 faculties) in 2013, and Excellent Teaching Award in 2009 – 2012.
