Yang Luo, male, Ph.D., Research Assistant Professor (Assistant Researcher) at the National Engineering Research Center for Software Engineering, Peking University; Master's Supervisor. Jointly appointed faculty member of the Department of Network Software and System Security, School of Software and Microelectronics, Peking University; Head of the AI Cloud Operating System Research Group at the Peking University–Daxing Economic Development Zone Joint Laboratory; Senior Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF); currently serving as Executive Committee Member of the CCF Technical Committee on Embedded Systems and of the CCF Technical Committee on Open Source Development; Lead of the Apache Casbin open source community.
- His research focuses on key technologies for software and system security. He has published more than 30 academic papers, including 20 as first or corresponding author, among them dozens of CCF Class A/B papers published in top international journals and conferences such as TDSC, TIFS, ASE, and IJCAI. He holds 8 granted invention patents (including 1 U.S. patent) and has co-authored two national standards (National Information Security Standardization Technical Committee).
- He proposed Casbin, a unified access control framework based on a meta-model, released as open source on GitHub with more than 33,000 stars — ranking first worldwide in star count among comparable open source projects. It was selected for the 2021 Open Source Innovation List of the China Association for Science and Technology's "Kechuang China" program (covered by CCTV-2, receiving the award alongside Huawei HarmonyOS), and was included by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the white paper NIST.SP.800-204B, "Attribute-based Access Control for Microservices-based Applications Using a Service Mesh."
