Welcome to Haitao Quan's personal website!
Since Jan. 2019 I have been a full professor in the physics school of Peking University in Beijing, China. From Dec. 2012 to Dec. 2018, I was a tenure-track assistant professor in the physics school of Peking University. Before joining Peking University I was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Maryland, College Park working with Prof. Chris Jarzynski from Sep. 2010 to Dec. 2012 and at Los Alamos National Laboratry working with Dr. Wojciech H. Zurek from Sep. 2007 to Sep. 2010. Prior to that, I did my PhD with Prof. Chang-Pu Sun at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. My research focuses on statistical physics and quantum physics. Specifically, I work on fundamental problems in nonequilibrium and quantum statistical thermodynamics, such as stochastic thermodynamics in quantum many-body systems and open quantum systems. Various formulations of quantum mechanics (path integral formulation, phase space formulation et al.) and their applications in the studies of quantum-classical correspondence of thermodynamics.
